FLASHPOINT for Jul 17, 2007
Tuesday, July 17, 2007 | 7:19 a.m.
Nevada always has to be different. Test your state politi- cal IQ: Who were the leaders in fundraising on each side of the presidential race? Hillary Clinton and Mitt Romney? Barack Obama and Rudy Giuliani? Try again. In fact, try Bill Richardson and John McCain. Who would have guessed it? Richardson's efforts in the state appear to be paying off - literally. He has traveled to points north, south and rural. For him, it's Nevada or bust - or at least Nevada or some lesser job if someone else wins the nomination. As for McCain, he has fundraising maven Sig Rogich helping him, along with MGM Mirage's Terry Lanni. But even the money he raised here may not be enough. He may be bust despite Nevada.
