Letter: Prince Harry does more than talk the talk
Monday, Feb. 19, 2007 | 7:28 a.m.
It was with delight and pride that I read that a member of the royal family of the USA's most loyal and trusted friend from across the Atlantic Ocean, Great Britain, could be sent in harm's way with his regiment to Basra, Iraq, to fight for his country. Prince Harry, third in line to the throne, is said to be following a long tradition that royal members of the throne have done through the years, to share in the sacrifices of the common men and women of their country.
It is my fervent hope that the members of our royal family in the USA would heed and follow the example of our friends across the ocean and send their loved ones into harm's way and share the same sacrifice of our brave men and women fighting President Bush's and Vice President Dick Cheney's war in Iraq.
To our young men and women lending their vocal support of Bush's Iraq policies, I pose a challenge: "You have done your talking," now it is time to show some backbone and "do the walking."
