I have called Jon Porter "The Invisible Man" when he ducked debates. I have called the congressman "Message Man"because of his effortless accessing of and adherence to GOP talking points. Both epithets were bestowed with respect for the tactic and disgust for the tactic. But what could I possibly come up with for Porter after his widely lampooned assertion that gas prices will go to $9 a gallon if we leave Iraq ? He would not elaborate in the report in the newspaper that makes the Sun look better every day. I wonder if he realizes and he probably does with all the criticism how insane that sounds. So what could possibly capture this tactic? "Desperate Man." "Panic Man." "Denial Man." Or maybe: Man without a Plan.
