Letter: Money Mexico wants has good uses here
Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007 | 7:21 a.m.
I just read about Mexico wanting millions of dollars of our money to fight drug lords in that country. The Mexicans think they're entitled to it because we gave Colombia $5 billion for its drug problem.
Some of our fearless politicians agree with Mexico, because we're the best customer the drug lords of Mexico have. That statement is so true.
Just think, my fellow American citizens, if we had all the money we threw at all the dictators on this planet over the years so they could live in the lap of luxury, what we could have done with said billions. I'll tell you: We would have universal health care. No homeless people . An infrastructure in excellent condition. A citizenry happy and in no need of illegal drugs . And just maybe a cure for cancer. We give this money to people with no accountability.
I have a suggestion for Mexican President Felipe Calderon. When we're through in Iraq in 10 to 20 years, we can send our army to Mexico and round up its drug lords. We can put them in exile in our country, so they can live a real good life with their blood money. Hang in there, my fellow Americans.
