Letter: Bush to blame for disastrous turn

Just before leaving for vacation, the last image I saw of President Bush was his addressing a crowd (usually consisting of invited guests only) that included a brave veteran who had lost both legs right above the knees. George Bush looked at the crowd (raised his shoulders as only he can) and had the pertness to say something to the effect that he's a good man - we're going to get him some leg s . Some legs? Like they're a pair of shoes. How shameful.
On returning from vacation, I was greeted on Aug. 3 with a picture in the opinion section of the Las Vegas Sun of George Bush, brazen-faced, holding hands with two veterans; one who has lost one leg and the other who has lost both legs.
How deplorable that this president can pose (yet another photo op) standing on his own two good legs while these two young men lost their legs because of his irresponsible and dishonest actions. Does he not realize that these young, courageous men would still have their limbs if it were not for him and his (yes, his) unmanageable mess of a war?
