The National Republican Congressional Committee has a neat trick. It periodically sends out news releases into congressional districts accusing the Democratic challengers of going X number of days refusing to take positions. Then comes the list of issues the Democrat supposedly has evaded. Democrat Tessa Hafen, challenging Rep. Jon Porter, is on the list. I think the NRCC is right on this. Hafen and other Democrats should have to take positions on these issues - and others, too. And what better forum for taking these positions than a series of debates? As many as possible, I'd say. So I am sure the NRCC is advising all of its incumbents to debate as often as they can to expose their opponents. Right?
