FLASHPOINT for Sep 08, 2006

All this talk of strip clubs lately - what with G-Sting and the Crazy Horse problems - has Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman thinking again. And that can be a dangerous thing. He told reporters Thursday that he has renewed interest in a red-light district for Las Vegas, somewhere in an industrial area. No, he's not talking cathouses - not yet, he said. But maybe all the clubs should be localized, especially because of the availability of police officers, Goodman mused. And he offered that maybe the strip club ads should be limited to that area, too. So has he consulted with his council about his brilliant idea? Oh, no. He's just brainstorming, just talking, he told reporters. Really? Shocking. Probably means it becomes a national story.
