Letter: War fatalities don’t hit home with leaders

Here's an idea for equal opportunity.

How about all those in power to make decisions to go to war put their own children's lives on the line?

Instead of children from poor families spilling their blood for any whim of our leaders, let the public see the children of these leaders on the front lines of war, side by side with the children who are not from privileged backgrounds. Perhaps then these leaders would put forth more effort to investigate and question a pre-emptive war if their own flesh and blood were part of the ante.

If their own children were coming home in body bags, maybe that would bring these leaders to the reality of war.

President Bush didn't even want news coverage of the coffins being unloaded from airplanes. Mr. Bush certainly is in a "state of denial," even now.
