Letter: Woodward's title sums it up perfectly
When you see recent headlines such as "Iraqi police brigade, death squad link probed," or "U.S. at critical crossroads in Afghanistan," and then read an article that states that just last week part of the 2007 defense spending bill was a $20 million fund set up to celebrate our victory in Iraq and Afghanistan, which was placed under the heading of "commemoration of success," one can only surmise that the president and his supporters hold their strategy sessions in some of the poppy fields in Afghanistan.

Letter: War must be fought at full strength
The terrorists are using the same methods of fighting they have found successful for centuries. They do not use uniforms as we do. They simply dress the same as the civilians they use for "cover." I think the United States needs to adjust to the rules of war that are being used by the enemy. We need to do as we did in World War II. Letter: Support of Iraq war is mind-boggling
There are segments of this war that are facts, not spin, such as: (a) there were no WMDs in Iraq after all; (b) Saddam had no connection with either al-Qaida or 9/11; and (c) occupying Iraq is motivating young Muslims, who were not even part of the equation when we attacked Iraq, to commit deadly acts of insurgency. And every time I read or hear the argument that terrorist acts have been commited against us since the 1980s, I read those words over and over, and still can't find the word "Iraq'' in the details of those horrible events.

We would take replacement planes out to the big carriers and then turn around and run like the devil. That's about it.
