Letter: Voters clear the air with Question 5
Friday, Nov. 10, 2006 | 6:54 a.m.
It's hilarious to me that so many tavern owners and smokers are upset by Question 5 that passed this past Tuesday. Looking at how many voters made it to the polls this year, I think it's safe to say that many of the smokers who are upset by the results of Question 5 were all at the bar smoking and not voting.
Very few bars have made any effort to ventilate their buildings to protect the nonsmoking gamblers and drinkers. As a lifelong nonsmoker, I will be happy to spend more time at the local bar that is smoke-free now.
I ask: How many vices does one person need? Can't the average person be happy while gambling and/or drinking without poisoning everybody else with the most disgusting habit to man?
