Letter: Another Bush appointee fails his position

What, again? Not one more inexperienced appointee of President Bush doing a heck of a job? We've already endured a similar flap in Hurricane Katrina.

This time the head of Veterans Affairs, Jim Nicholson, apparently did not implement his own inspector general's recommendations to improve security procedures to protect sensitive records and other administrative rules, resulting in serious compromises of vital personal information of millions of veterans, including mine, for which we are justly quite concerned. How many more such serious problems of Bush appointees are waiting to be uncovered or even admitted in the next two years?

In the service, "The leader is responsible for what his unit does or fails to do," and applied in this case, Nicholson's tenure should be carefully scrutinized.
