Letter: Shamed into leaving Las Vegas

There is a different brand of people who are coming here now. They aren't here to stay and raise families. I've heard many people say they came to work in construction, save money, and then they will return to their home states. So they don't really care about the politics, schools or the homeless or anything for the betterment of the community because they are only temporary.

Because of my poor health, I can't move very far, but at least I was able to move to Pahrump and get away from the crime, corruption and auto accidents every day of the year.

After 43 years it was sad for me to leave my town, but I am ashamed to tell anyone I'm from Las Vegas. I once was really proud to say I was from Las Vegas, but that's over and I'm sure it will never be the same again.
