Timing is everything and it can be coincidental. But rarely is it when it comes to government and politics. On Friday it was reported that Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman's idiotic thumb-erasing policy for taggers had come under fire by a well-known clothing mogul. Goodman, who has often said he will meet with anyone, refused to meet with the critic. Then, that same day, Clark County announced that it was debuting its "juvenile graffiti offender" program. That's where these taggers will have to do community service by cleaning up graffiti. Community service or thumb-chopping? Wonder which one is more popular with the hoi polloi?
