You know your campaign is taking off when you get invited to the Amateur Radio Operators Convention in Reno. That's where gubernatorial contender Bob Beers is going as part of a swing through rural and Northern Nevada, where he hopes conservative voters will latch onto his anti-tax pitch. Beers is on a crusade to pummel front-runner Jim Gibbons for being a spendthrift Washington politician in the thrall of special interests. He will say as much in front of the radio operators (a so-far untapped demographic) and folks at chambers of commerce dotting the cow counties. Beers probably will continue to ignore Lorraine Hunt, whom he rarely ever mentions anymore. Who is she again?
