So why has the American Gaming Association, paralyzed by its divided membership for years, suddenly decided to support a study of Internet gambling? Here's what The Wall Street Journal thinks: "The main trade group for U.S. casinos called for the creation of a congressional commission to study whether the online-gambling industry should be regulated, in a move that appears to relax opposition to the practice." Appears to relax opposition? That is rich. No, it is to create a pathway to riches because the major gaming players can no longer ignore the new frontier. They have watched companies sprout from nothing, lure gamblers online and become billion-dollar enterprises. It's time to cash in.
