FLASHPOINT for Mar 27, 2006

So what do a seminal historical figure such as Ben Franklin and an obscure Nevadan named Bruce James have in common? Not much, except both have been United States Public Printer, a fairly obscure position but one that James has gotten much more mileage out of than Franklin ever could. James found himself last week invited to the White House to celebrate his fellow printer's 300th birthday, where President Bush offered the famous Franklinism about getting to bed early and the benefits that brings. The Blue Room ceremony drew about 300 people and actually featured a Ben Franklin impersonator. No, I don't mean James. I mean a guy who imitated Franklin.
