Letter: Americans should be outraged by Iraq war
Wednesday, June 21, 2006 | 7:14 a.m.
Where is the outrage? As of this writing, 2,507 GIs have been killed in Bush's war of choice against the Iraqi people. And 18,572 GIs have been wounded with more than 8,000 of them permanently disabled. The math says that 2.1 GIs were killed on average per day for 1,185 days; 15.6 GIs have been wounded per day in that same period, with 6.8 GIs permanently disabled for the same period.
Bush and the neocons have created a charnel field, or as they say, a "killing" field in Iraq. And Karl Rove, who never donned a military uniform in our country's defense, is now using the war as a political tool against the Democrats in November. I ask again: Where is the outrage?
