FLASHPOINT for Jun 18, 2006
Sunday, June 18, 2006 | 7:42 a.m.
Whatever separation ostensibly existed between the Bob Beers for governor campaign and the Tax and Spending Control initiative campaign is now gone. All of the other alarums about TASC's signature-gathering troubles had gone out through the initiative headquarters. But last week, under the Beers campaign rubric, a missive went out headlined: "TASC hits 5-Day Countdown." And it went on to warn recipients of the blast e-mail: "There are only five more days to gather the remaining petition signatures and ensure the Tax and Spending Control (TASC) amendment makes it on November's ballot." What will Beers talk about if it doesn't qualify? My guess: He'll still talk about it.
