Letter: What to do with unused embryos?

Here's a moral dilemma which President Bush hasn't even thought of:

According to a recent issue of Time magazine, there are "hundreds of thousands" of frozen embryos stored at in vitro fertilization clinics in the United States. Most of them will not be used to produce pregnancies but instead will ultimately be destroyed.

As our chief protector of the sanctity of human life, our president has already decreed that the federal government will not support the use of human embryos in stem-cell research. I wonder what Bush would want done with the surplus and unwanted embryos since, following along with his philosophy, they can neither be used nor destroyed.

Let's ask him and find out!
