Letter: There is a limit to freedom of choice
Wednesday, July 19, 2006 | 7:39 a.m.
In response to Brad Evans' July 12 letter, "Smoking ban defies freedom of choice." Now I'm not against anyone smoking as much as they wish, provided their filthy habit does not impact my health, which it does.
Why smokers want to put their health and lives in jeopardy is beyond me when medical science knows the dangers of smoking - yet smokers persist.
Now the media reports that in this century a billion people will die from smoking - what a horrific indictment of this habit.
Mr. Evans negates the fact that freedom of choice does not mean you can yell fire in a crowded theater if no fire exists.
