Much of the chatter during the last week has been about how much the various candidates raised. But what about what they spent that money on? Rep. Jim Gibbons spent about $600,000, but he has a lot of consultants. So does Henderson Mayor Jim Gibson, who spent about half that much. By contrast, Sen. Minority Leader Dina Titus spent about half of what Gibson did. And she's the fiscal liberal in this race? The funniest expense on any report I have seen so far, though, comes from Speaker-in-Waiting Barbara Buckley. Seems someone bought campaign supplies worth $199.30 at the dreaded Wal-Mart. What will her union friends say? Say it ain't so, Madame Speaker.
