Letter: Baseball goes hand and glove with the past
Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006 | 7:35 a.m.
Thanks for Ron Kantowski's article on baseball gloves ("A good glove is hard to find," Feb. 20). As a 65-year-old, I re- member the excitement of a new mitt. Oiling it with neat's-foot oil, wrapping it with twine, putting it under my mattress ...
By the way, the Rawlings or Spaulding box was one of the best parts of getting the glove. Thanks for remembering it.
