Most races for the Assembly are not worth watching. Redistricting by incumbents for incumbents protects in a bipartisan way. But this year, as in 2004, a pivotal contest will take place in District 5 as the Democrats stretch to get to a veto-proof majority. Incumbent Valerie Weber will face a Democratic challenger with impressive lineage. Paralegal Dawn Dudas, the daughter of the late, legendary Bill "Wildcat" Morris, says she will take on Weber. Her dad was the owner of the Landmark and had many friends. Her mom, Vivienne, was on the state Board
