Most races for the Assembly are not worth watching. Redistricting by incumbents for incumbents protects in a bipartisan way. But this year, as in 2004, a pivotal contest will take place in District 5 as the Democrats stretch to get to a veto-proof majority. Incumbent Valerie Weber will face a Democratic challenger with impressive lineage. Paralegal Dawn Dudas, the daughter of the late, legendary Bill "Wildcat" Morris, says she will take on Weber.
