Letter: Speech doesn’t include violence

Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006 | 12:31 p.m.

In response to Terry Peele's very naive and uniformed letter in the Feb. 7 edition, I have to ask Mr. Peele if he considers nine deaths, so far, numerous injuries and the burning of a few embassies as freedom of expression? These acts are called crimes - even the Islamic religion has no "freedom" to kill people and destroy property.

I am offended by what you have written, Mr. Peele, I protest what you have written, Mr. Peele, but I don't have any intention of hurting you or burning down your house. My religion teaches a much more sane and legal approach to protest and freedom of expression.
