Flashpoint for Feb. 6, 2006

As we slip into February, that cliche about the year already going too fast is being bandied about. But when it comes to campaigns, if you really want to know how short the year seems, this is the first year in Nevada history that votes for candidates will be cast in July. That's right, July. According to the schedule that election officials have set up, early voting for the primary begins July 29. So for those with beach houses or who are off on summer vacation, you can stop back briefly in town, cast your vote and go back to enjoying your summer. Not to worry if anything happens between July 29 and Aug. 15, Election Day. Just get a nice tan.
