Letter: No changing fact that illegals are criminals
Monday, Dec. 18, 2006 | 7:23 a.m.
Regarding the Las Vegas Sun's Dec. 14 editorial, "Pahrump comes to its senses - Town Board dismisses the odious idea of forcing undocumented people to register":
No matter how much you are against the agenda of the Pahrump Town Board, you can't change the fact that our do-gooders in the federal government can't brainwash the public into accepting the fact that guest workers and undocumented workers are not illegal immigrants.
While they sneak across our borders and tear up our fences, drop their garbage on our ranches, let our cattle free, use our water and then let it run, take advantage of our hospitals, welfare system, schools, etc. - without paying taxes - they will always be "them" as opposed to "us." They are breaking our laws and are criminals.
They are so proud of being from their country, I would think that they would want to stay in their country and fix their problems, instead of sneaking in here and creating problems for us.
Our elected sheriff in Nye County has decided that all the laws are not to be enforced, but interpreted by him instead of by a judge. This makes living in Nye County extremely difficult, and until the people start taking officials like him to task, the country will wallow in ineptitude and be subject to being victims.
