Letter: U.S. has power to fight any war
Friday, Dec. 1, 2006 | 7:20 a.m.
So very many say that America is stretched so thin militarily we cannot do anything about Iran or North Korea.
I ask: Are their memories so short as to forget we fought in Europe and the Pacific at the same time?
All too long we have been fighting among ourselves, thereby having the world leaders that want to be the controllers of the world emboldened by our stupidity! The presidents of Iran, Syria, North Korea and Venezuela all sneer and laugh at us. In their minds we are weak and ineffectual in the world, and they intend to take advantage of this. The sad fact is all too many in America are willing to allow this to be the way things are.
The truth is that we have a military and an arsenal in sufficient strength to take care of business quickly! Do what is necessary to oust the leaders who are, in truth, dictators. Use every asset that we have to prove to these men that America is not to be fooled with and that when we ask them to clean up their acts, we mean it.
I am sure that there are those out there who would label me a "warmonger." Not so. I am a realist, and if those who disagree with me are willing to allow our freedom to "go down the proverbial drain," and continue to deny the truth, I say that I want my children to live free - free from terrorism, free from despotism and free from worry.
We have the power to control our own destinies - use that power!
