Letter: Look outside politics to solve nation’s problems
Friday, Aug. 25, 2006 | 7:22 a.m.
It is very clear that this administration is failing to address the critical issues that face our country today. Politics being what it is today, I dare say no one in this country, whether they be Democrat, Republican or whomever, are happy with the performance of our representatives in forthrightly dealing with issues that absolutely need to be resolved.
If I had one wish it would be for someone to take the lead (the press) and assemble the brightest minds and think tanks in this country and commit them to the tasks at hand:
1. How do we resolve the issue of Iraq?
2. How do we combat the threat of terrorism?
3. How do we conserve energy and reduce our reliance on foreign oil?
4. How do we resolve the issue of immigration?
Can you just imagine what could be accomplished if we capitalized on the talent outside of the political system to resolve these issues?
