FLASHPOINT for Apr 23, 2006
Sunday, April 23, 2006 | 7:26 a.m.
A most interesting parlor game is occurring on Grand Central Parkway and elsewhere these days. With County Manager Thom Reilly lusting after the UNLV president's job, county commissioners are asking friends and associates if they want the job. Among those who have been approached are ex-County Administrative Services boss Terry Murphy and Regional Transportation Commission boss Jake Snow. Among others whose names surely will be floated: Reilly assistant Virginia Valentine, monorail boss Curtis Myles, Deputy Las Vegas Manager Betsy Fretwell, Henderson Manager Phil Speight. One little problem: Reilly doesn't have the UNLV job yet and I hear the out-of-state applicants are impressive.
