Letter: Instead of exchanging gifts, send donations
Friday, Sept. 16, 2005 | 8:55 a.m.
Some would say the essence of Christmas is the spirit of giving. In that spirit, our family has come up with an idea to do what we can to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
We have decided that the adult members of our families will not exchange gifts this Christmas. Instead, in the early Christmas spirit, we will all dig deep in our pockets to make generous gifts to the Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fund.
We encourage other families to consider doing the same.
