This regards the letters you've been printing from people opposed to the concept of evolution. The fossil record indicates that humans have been around for a mere blip in Earth's 4.8 billion years. In spite of that, the human population has increased from 1 billion in 1800 to 6 billion people now. As we push the limits of our planet, real science becomes a crucial tool for our survival.
The leaders in the future will need a firm grasp of scientific reality and participation in religion will remain optional. Forcing religious dogma such as intelligent design into the science classroom is a colossal mistake. Our kids deserve the facts.
