Napoleon Tomas Granil
Napoleon Tomas Granil, 76, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 5, 1929, in the Philippines. A resident for 31 years, he was a retired Navy chief petty officer and a veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of American Legion Post 8.
He is survived by his wife, Ester; three sons, Edwin Granil and Bryan Granil, both of Las Vegas, and Kenneth Granil of Henderson; two daughters, Veldah Gates of San Antonio and Wendy Everson of Las Vegas; and 15 grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m. until a 1 p.m. service Monday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Graveside services will be noon Tuesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.
The family suggests donations to the American Red Cross, Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund, Clark County Chapter, 1819 E. Charleston Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89104.
Helen M. Hayes
Helen M. Hayes, 90, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born June 28, 1915, in New York City. A resident for 13 years, she was a retired switchboard operator.
She is survived by one daughter, Elaine Amoroso of Las Vegas; three sisters, Dorothy Jones and Beatrice Candela, both of New York state, and Florence Steen of New Jersey; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling private arrangements.
Diane Laura
Diane Laura, 67, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 11, 1937, in Detroit. A resident for 17 years, she was a retired food server.
She is survived by two daughters, Kristie Brown of Las Vegas and Karen George of Royal Oak, Mich.; two sons, Gary Laura of Troy, Mich., and Greg Laura of Tumwater, Wash.; her companion, Larrey Brown of Las Vegas; and 10 grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, handled arrangements.
Pilar J. Oneto
Pilar J. Oneto, 86, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 17, 1919, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. A resident for 28 years, she was a retired licensed baby sitter.
She is survived by two daughters, Marta Mazzola and Nancy E. Oneto, both of Las Vegas; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 10 a.m. Sunday in Palm Chapel, Main. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.
Anthony Raymond Sanchez
Anthony Raymond Sanchez, 39, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born May 5, 1966, in California. A resident for several years, he was a tow truck driver.
He is survived by his parents, Jose M. and Jacqueline "Jackie" Sanchez.
Visitation is scheduled 4-6 p.m. Saturday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
