Bund Bhagwat

Bund Bhagwat, 79, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. He was born Jan. 11, 1926, in Poona, India. A resident for 14 years, he was a retired structural engineer in the aerospace industry.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce; one daughter, Caren Alfonso of Granada Hills, Calif.; two sons, Thomas Bhagwat of Rowland Heights, Calif., and Timothy Bhagwat of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Calvary Chapel, 47 E. Atlantic Ave., Henderson. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

The family suggests donations to the American Diabetes Association, 2785 E. Desert Inn Road, Las Vegas, NV 89121.

Carl Arthur Cephus

Carl Arthur Cephus, 39, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. He was born Nov. 12, 1965, in El Paso, Texas. A resident for 16 years, he was a dock manager for a fuel company.

He is survived by his wife, Tiffany; four daughters, Melissa, Tatiana, Anastasia and Trinity, and one son, Jared, all of Henderson; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 7 p.m. Friday in Warm Springs Baptist Church, 2075 W. Warm Springs Road. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

John Corn

John Corn, 83, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. He was born April 17, 1922,in Glensboro, Ky. A resident for 27 years, he was a retired Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms inspector and a World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; and one daughter, Patty Berkowitz of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 1-2 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Fred Eggleston

Fred Eggleston, 64, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. An automobile salesman and a Vietnam War Navy veteran, he was born March 6, 1941, in San Pedro, Calif.

He is survived by one daughter, Carla Eggleston of Reno.

Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

The family suggests contributions to the donor's favorite charity.

Artense Howard

Artense Howard, 75, of North Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 10, 1930, in Providence, La. A resident for more than 50 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Allen; three daughters, Rosa Mae Longmire, Lois M. Howard and Evelyn J. Howard, one sister, Dorothy Burns, and two brothers, Edward Howard and Allen C. Howard Jr., all of Las Vegas; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Portals to Glory Church of God in Christ, 2301 Comstock Drive, North Las Vegas. Burial will follow at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Ralph LaFortezza Jr.

Ralph LaFortezza Jr., 59, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. A resident for most of his life, he was born Dec. 12, 1945, in Maryland.

He is survived by two sisters, Leah Ward and Sonia Periegoff.

Graveside services were scheduled this morning at Woodlawn Cemetery. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

The family suggests donations to the Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 S. Swenson St., Las Vegas, NV 89119.

Patricia M. Leonard

Patricia M. Leonard, 85, of Las Vegas died Aug. 23 in Las Vegas. She was born July 29, 1920, in Derby, England. A resident for 52 years, she was a retired bookkeeper.

She is survived by two sisters, Lillian Stevens of Portland, Maine, and Margaret Magerkurth of Calverton, N.Y.; and one niece, Gail Ambrose of Gorham, Maine.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m. until a 1 p.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Marie G. Minella

Marie G. Minella, 88, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 6, 1917, in Dillonvale, Ohio. A resident for five years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, D.J. Minella, and one daughter, Vivian Satkowski, both of Las Vegas; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is private. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive. Burial will follow in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Angela Darlene Shanks and Henry Shanks Jr.

Angela Darlene Shanks, 26, of North Las Vegas died Aug. 29 in North Las Vegas, and her father, Henry Shanks Jr., 85, of Las Vegas died Aug. 23 in Las Vegas. Angela was born Nov. 14, 1978, in California. Henry was born Jan. 1, 1920, in Louisiana. Twenty-six-year residents, she was a cashier at Wal-Mart and he was a hotel laborer.

Angela is survived by her husband, Derrick Stewart; four daughters, Tyzanae Sampson, Brianna Whitfield, Jasmine Stewart and Diamond Stewart, and her mother and stepfather, Rose Ann and Clifford Samuels, all of North Las Vegas.

Henry is survived by one sister, Edna Greene of California.

They are also survived by Angela's brother and Henry's son, Curtis Jackson, and Angela's sisters and Henry's daughters, Mandesia Shanks, Laneich Davis and Tracy McClodden, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Friday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.
