A pair of accidents on rural roads in northern Nevada have claimed three lives, the Nevada Highway Patrol reported.
The patrol said two Denio residents were killed in a rollover on Nevada 140, 90 miles northwest of Winnemucca, and an Idaho man was killed in another rollover Thursday, this one on U.S. 93 south of Wendover.
Investigators said Robert Diebler, 41, and 44-year-old Leah Brashear were killed in the accident between Winnemucca and Denio. Neither was wearing a seatbelt and both were ejected.
In the eastern part of the state, Mervin Wootan, 75, was killed when the pickup he was driving rolled over on U.S. 93. Wootan, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other adults were injured critically and were flown to Salt Lake City. A third adult received minor injuries and two children, who were secured in child restraints received minor injuries.
