Flashpoint for Nov. 22, 2005

Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005 | 7:53 a.m.

Quite the quotable delegation we have. Sen. Harry Reid has called the president a liar and a loser. Rep. Jim Gibbons has referred to D.C. bureaucrats as pencil-neck geeks. And now the most voluble of them all, Rep. Shelley Berkley, made it into Roll Call with her memorable description of the delegation sans Reid as "a Jew, a jerk, a joke and a jock." That jest, made at a roast of yours truly, was called a "fun guessing game" in Roll Call. But a Berkley spokesman was circumspect, identifying only the Jew -- the congresswoman. In case there is a mystery, here's who's who. The jock: Sen. John Ensign. The jerk: Gibbons. The joke: Rep. Jon Porter. Ouch. She should have just stuck to the target at hand.
