Letter: Bush distorts truth, compromises principles
Monday, Nov. 21, 2005 | 8:30 a.m.
Everything in this letter has been made public by either the written or spoken word many times over, but there are issues that do bear repeating. The blatant corruption and arrogance of the Bush administration cannot be overlooked or dismissed as something we have to live with until his term is up.
The further down the road we go with this group of inept stumblebums, the more time, money and lives it will take for us to come back.
The principles that most Americans believe in are being compromised and jeopardized by Bush and his band of cronies, under the disguise of patriotism. They distort the truth in a perverse manner so as to further their own personal agendas. They make a mockery of the laws by which we have lived for over 200 years.
We are uninformed and misled, the facts are kept secret and we are fed only the distorted stories that may further this administration's corrupt cause.
Anything that could be addressed as a positive for the people takes forever to occur. Our entire system of government moves at a snail's pace.
We don't need health insurance or an improved educational system or the war in Iraq to end in 2010 -- we need it now. It's obvious that G.W. has no sense of urgency and he actually prides himself on being a wartime president.
May I remind everyone that his war has already taken over 2,000 American lives and over 15,000 casualties; it costs billions every month. Just how far down the wrong road are we willing to go before we make a U-turn and come back to the reality of our situation?
