Letter: Death is unfortunate, but it is part of war
Monday, Nov. 14, 2005 | 8:51 a.m.
I am tired of the bleeding-heart liberals who are aiding and abetting the terrorists.
Yes, we all understand and grieve the terrible loss of our young men in the Middle East. But are we to ignore what was done to us on 9/11? I don't think so!
Do you liberals grieve over the 50,000 Americans who die each year from vehicle accidents -- not to mention the hundreds of thousands who are injured and maimed? Do you grieve over the 200,000 Americans who die in hospitals from the wrong drugs administered or the accidents that occur on the operating table each year? Do you grieve over the 5,000 Americans who are killed each year by handguns? I think not! Only the family and close friends feel that pain.
Folks, this is war -- don't you get it? I don't care what reason our government gave us, and it certainly wasn't the president who made that decision alone. Iraq was trouble and we took out a despot. Just look at the rest of the world. Do you see what is happening to them?
Sept. 11 was a wake-up call for us -- just like Pearl Harbor -- and we are responding. Get a life, liberals!
