Stanley Cup trophy to make LV appearance

Just in case a Nov. 25 game against the Stockton Thunder isn't a big enough attraction in itself, the Las Vegas Wranglers have a special treat for local hockey fans on that night.

The Stanley Cup will be in town and will be making an appearance at the Orleans Arena.

Wranglers fans will be able to have their picture taken with one of the most famous trophies in sports as well as donate to hurricane relief efforts.

The National Hockey League is joining forces with the ECHL to raise money for hurricane victims by having the Stanley Cup visit 20 ECHL cities between Oct. 26 and Dec. 17.

Proceeds from those games will assist the Red Cross, Salvation Army and United Way efforts.
