Letter: All is well in United States?

I can't for the life of me figure out why there is so much resistance toward American democracy or republicanism.

We have very little corruption in our corporations. All the medical needs of every American citizen are taken care of. Public schools turn out well-educated students. We have very little crime, thanks to organizations like the American Civil Liberties Union. Our borders are secure, only letting in productive, non-criminal types.

We have no illegal drug problems whatsoever. Divorce is all but nonexistent; family life is strong and well adjusted and senior citizens are looked up to by our younger generation. Every citizen attends church faithfully. There are no anti-depression drugs used by our happy-go-lucky citizens. Politicians of both parties have only the best interests of hard-working Americans.

I can't believe I wrote the whole thing. That suitcase of pills I take each day must be kicking in.
