Lawmakers react to Economic Forum report

A sample of reactions Monday from lawmakers to the state Economic Forum's revenue estimates:

---

"Let the games begin. You're going to see an attempt to spend all of it. But if you spend that money on programs with the state, there will be ongoing operation and management for each. You're just adding to the budget everywhere." - Assembly Minority Leader Lynn Hettrick, R-Gardnerville

---

"It doesn't look like there will be as much money for pet projects as people had hoped." - Senate Minority Leader Dina Titus, D-Las Vegas, noting that after the gaps in Medicaid, school budgets and the Millennium Scholarship are filled, there's not much left over.

---

"Before we got today's numbers, the budget was being increased by 19 percent. That was already a big budget. Nobody's going to starving in Carson City." - Sen. Bob Beers, R-Las Vegas.

---

"Now we need to look at some of those proposals that are out there. First of all, on the DSA you have proposals ranging from $120 million to $200 million just on the distributive school acccount. This will alleviate some of the concerns on how to fund that." - Senate Majority Leader Bill Raggio, R-Reno.

---

"Anything that's alive that comes over with a rebate we'll have to consider. But we have nothing to react to. ... Is (a car registration rebate) the best most equitable way to give money back to the taxpayer? I don't know." - Assemblywoman Chris Giunchigliani, D-Las Vegas.
