Book signing

Author Sharon Waxman will sign copies of her book, "Rebels on the Backlot," at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Reading Room at Mandalay Place, 3930 Las Vegas Blvd. South. Admission is free.

Craft Month

All ages are invited to make crafts at a free National Craft Month celebration from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Stupak Community Center, 300 W. Boston Ave. 229-2488.

'Community Roots'

"Community Roots: The History of West Las Vegas," a workshop focusing on black pioneers in West Las Vegas and Nevada history, will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the West Las Vegas Arts Center, 947 W. Lake Mead Blvd. Admission is $15. 229-4800.

St. Patrick's dance

Las Vegas Cultural Affairs Division will hold a St. Patrick's Day dance from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday at the Charleston Heights Arts Center, 800 S. Brush St. Admission is $12 the day of the dance, $10 in advance. 229-6383.
