Firm to settle pension suits

Thursday, March 3, 2005 | 9:31 a.m.

Enron Corp. has tentatively agreed to settle lawsuits over employee pension fund claims, lawyers for the company and workers said.

Under the proposed agreement, Enron would allow a $356.2 million claim to be made against it in U.S. bankruptcy court to resolve employee lawsuits over pension fund stock losses, Lynn Sarko, a lawyer for Enron workers, told a judge Wednesday. A claim of that size could result in a $64 million recovery for Enron workers.
