Las Vegas company files suit, forms new division

Las Vegas-based Alliance Gaming Corp. has filed suit in the state of Washington against another Las Vegas company, alleging a patent infringement.

In a suit filed earlier this month in the Western Washington District in Seattle, Shuffle Master Inc. is accused of patent infringement in the development of its MD2 Shuffler system.

The suit, which seeks damages and an injunction to stop use of the technology, also alleges that Shuffle Master breached a confidentiality agreement with the inventors of Alliance's proprietary table game monitoring devices.

In another announcement, Bally Gaming and Systems, a division of Alliance, announced the formation of the Bally Table Management Systems division which will market a variety of player tracking, card security and gaming chip technology products.
