Shooting victim identified
The man who was shot to death Friday morning during an argument with one of his roommates in their apartment on West Charleston Boulevard near Rainbow Boulevard was identified this morning as 33-year-old William Hollingsworth, authorities said.
Hollingsworth died of a chest wound caused by a shotgun blast, the Clark County Coroner's office said.
The shooting occurred about 10:45 a.m. Friday in the St. Charleston Village complex, and immediately afterward 20-year-old Charles Lane, one of Hollingsworth's roommates, ran from the apartment carrying a shotgun, Metro Police said. Lane was caught by a patrol officer a short distance away, police said.
Four injured in Saturday accident
Three people hospitalized since Saturday as a result of a traffic collision Saturday had been upgraded to fair condition as of this morning, but one woman remained in critical condition, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Metro Police said that the 1994 Geo Prizm in which the four were riding was hit by a 1986 Ford F350 pickup truck that apparently failed to stop for a red light about 9 p.m.
The Geo was eastbound on Bonanza Road when it was hit by the southbound truck in the intersection at Martin Luther King Boulevard, police said.
The Geo's three passengers -- Regina Estrellado, 60, Everado Meneses, 71, and Richard Yared, 60 -- were initially in serious condition at UMC in serious condition. The Geo driver, Julie Vidal, 67, was in critical condition.
The driver of the Ford truck, 27-year-old Patrick Kelleher, of San Jose, Calif., was not injured, police said. The collision was still under investigation this morning.
