Company to purchase Northern Nevada casino

American Wagering Inc. has struck an agreement to purchase Sturgeon's Inn Casino in Lovelock and has formed a subsidiary to acquire other hotel and casino operations.

Sturgeon's is a full-service hotel, casino and restaurant adjacent to Interstate 80 and about 90 miles east of Reno. The casino is more than 65,000 square feet and features 120 slots. The company didn't disclose the purchase price.

The Las Vegas company, which is publicly-traded over the counter, owns a chain of sports books across the state and emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier this year.

"One of our core growth strategies has been to broaden our revenue base and diversify cash flows," American Wagering Chief Executive Vic Salerno said in a statement.
