Isn't it interesting, as pointed out in Brian Greenspun's Sunday column, that the United States can program a space probe to travel 83 million miles into space, hit a comet traveling at extraordinary and take pictures of the collision and send them back to Earth for analysis.
But somehow we can't get 10 more miles a gallon of gasoline out of our vehicles, or develop renewable energy sources to replace fossil fuels.
Truly amazing!
