Suzanne Burchfield

Suzanne Burchfield, 73, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 9, 1931, in Des Moines, Iowa. A resident for 25 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Ronald Burchfield; one daughter, Karen Suddeth; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m. until a 1 p.m. service Wednesday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park, 1325 N. Main St.

Peggy J. Cason

Peggy J. Cason, 62, of Henderson died Thursday in Henderson. She was born March 16, 1942, in Winston Salem, N.C. A former Las Vegas resident for 16 years and most recently a Henderson resident for one year, she was a retired registered nurse.

She is survived by two sons, Tyrone Cason of Henderson and Temerio Cason of Detroit; two daughters, Theda Cason and Yolanda Cason, both of Henderson; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 S. Swenson St. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Charlotte Emma Day

Charlotte Emma Day, 90, of Pahrump died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 15, 1915, in Hollywood, Calif. A resident for two years, she was a retired secretary.

She is survived by one daughter, Drexel Firby of Pahrump; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. A memorial service will be held in Oregon. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Eleanor Harris

Eleanor Harris, 95, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 13, 1910, in Chicago. A resident for 48 years, she was a retired Sahara and Desert Inn hostess.

She is survived by one niece, Barbara of Illinois.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 10 a.m. service Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Mildred E. Hendrix

Mildred E. Hendrix, 55, of North Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 28, 1949, in Morganfield, Ky. A resident for 20 years, she was a casino cage manager.

She is survived by her companion, Mark Benson of North Las Vegas; one son, Steve Hendrix of Evansville, Ill.; one daughter, Jeana Beckwith of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.

Marlene Herlihy

Marlene Herlihy, 50, of Henderson died Wednesday in Henderson. She was born Nov. 23, 1954, in the Bronx, N.Y. A resident for seven years, she was a bar and restaurant owner.

She is survived by her husband, Edward; one son, Anthony Herlihy, and two daughters, Janee Fiumefreddo and Courtney Herlihy, all of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m. until a 1 p.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Harry A. Kanston

Harry A. Kanston, 79, of North Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born May 28, 1925, in Cleveland. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired hotel room service captain, a World War II Marine Corps veteran and a member of the Montford Point Marine Association.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine; two daughters, Sandra Kanston of North Las Vegas and Sylvia Freeman of Norfolk, Va.; two sons, Harry A. Kanston III of North Las Vegas and Carl Kanston of the Bronx, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Cheyenne. Graveside services will follow at noon Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Barry Stuart Lindsay

Barry Stuart Lindsay, 47, of Henderson died Friday in Henderson. He was born June 22, 1957, in Essex, England. A resident for nine months, he was an advertising specialist.

He is survived by his wife, Maria; one son, Christopher; his mother, Erica of Brussels, Belgium; and two brothers, Robert and Ben.

Visitation, rosary and Mass will begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday in St. Peter's Catholic Church, 204 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.

Clara Montoya

Clara Montoya, 74, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local care center. She was born Feb. 16, 1930, in Starkville, Colo. A resident for 44 years, she was a retired utility person for an engineering firm.

She is survived by one daughter, Fern Sanchez of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; two sons, Amos Montoya and Roger Montoya, both of Las Vegas; four brothers; four sisters; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Dale Michael Moran

Dale Michael Moran, 52, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 16, 1952, in Virginia. A resident for 15 years, he was a driver for a construction company.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Fernandes Moran; one daughter, Dawn Parker of Tennessee; his mother, Anne Moran, three brothers, Gene Moran, Lee Moran and John Moran, and one sister, Darlene Zitek, all of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Thursday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W.Sahara Ave. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Stanley Morrissey

Stanley Morrissey, 57, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born July 22, 1947, in New York City. A resident for 8 1/2 years, he was a hotel food and beverage director and a Vietnam War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Fran "Cookie" Zaccaro; one daughter, Samantha Carpel of Los Angeles; two sons, Michael Zaccaro of New York City and Spencer Morrissey of New Jersey; and five grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3:30-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Cecilia 'Cece' Neelon

Cecilia "Cece" Neelon, 45, of Las Vegas died Jan. 8 in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, she was born Jan. 8, 1960, in Las Vegas.

She is survived by her mother, Sylvia Neelon of Las Vegas; one brother, Carlton Smith of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and four sisters, Sandra Smith of Los Angeles, Carla Stice of North Las Vegas and Sonja Smith and Crystal Smith, both of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Chapel, Main.

Mary Ellen Saxon

Mary Ellen Saxon, 86, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. She was born Oct. 17, 1918, in Los Angeles. A resident for 58 years, she was a retired secretary, a longtime member and activist at Elgiza Center 139 of Daughters of the Nile and former member of Zelzah Shrine Center.

She is survived by one sister, Rose Reh, and one nephew, Tom Reh, both of LaVerne, Calif.; and one niece, Maureen White of San Bernardino, Calif.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Blas Torres Jr.

Blas Torres Jr., 43, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 9, 1961, in Santa Maria, Calif. A resident for 3 1/2 years, he was a computer technician.

He is survived by his wife, Susan; one daughter, Amanda Torres of Las Vegas; and one stepson, Stephen Thompson of Santa Maria.

Michiko Wade

Michiko Wade, 71, of Henderson died Saturday in a local care center. She was born Feb. 23, 1933, in Hiroshima, Japan. A resident for three years, she was a retired video store owner and a member of Sokagakai International of America.

She is survived by her husband, Wilbur L. Wade Jr., and one daughter, Deetta Biscardi of Henderson; and three grandchildren.
