Letter: Social Security is latest deception
Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005 | 8:45 a.m.
George Bush lied about weapons of mass destruction, as just confirmed by the U.S. government.
His latest lie is about Social Security. The idea that it is in some immediate danger of collapsing is once again another Bush attempt to get his way on something by misstating the facts.
He brags about having recently been endowed with political muscle and yet one of the most recent approval polls shows that only 49 percent of the American people agree with the way he's doing his job. How short a time from Nov. 2 until today for so many to so quickly become disillusioned.
The number of our troops killed in Iraq is approaching 1,400, countless others have been injured, and all for Bush's illusion of weapons of mass destruction.
When will this slaughter end?
