Four-team trade goes through after one month of dealing

Just in time for Rejean Stringer to come back to Las Vegas, the Wranglers completed the deal that began when Stringer was traded to Peoria on Dec. 7.
Peoria sent Las Vegas defenseman Trevor Johnson on Wednesday. He was then shipped to the South Carolina Stingrays, who sent defensemen Scott Basiuk to Dayton and Aaron Forsythe to Peoria.
Dayton then sent left winger Shawn Limpright to Las Vegas to complete what turned out to be a monthlong, four-team trade.
Coach Glen Gulutzan said the deal for Limpright began to materialize earlier this week as the Wranglers still held future considerations from Peoria for Stringer.
"I think he (Limpright) is a kid that sticks his nose in there; he gets dirty a little bit," Gulutzan said. "Hopefully he comes in here, fits in well and can have some success like he did last year."
Limpright played 27 games for Roanoke last season before being called up to AHL Syracuse. While in Roanoke, Limpright had 18 goals and 17 assists, plus 86 penalty minutes.
Jason McBain said he remembered his new teammate from the Wranglers' East Coast swing last year. Roanoke defeated Las Vegas in both of the teams' meetings.
"I was impressed in that game on how he played; I thought he was a hard-working kid," McBain said. "He seems to be a kid that can get under his opponents' skin a little bit, but plays with a pretty high skill level as well."
Limpright is expected to play for the Wranglers in two games against Peoria this weekend. Forsythe is slated to join the Rivermen, who are 3-0-1 in their last four games. Stringer has four goals and five assists in 10 games with Peoria.
