Samuel Bittman

Samuel Bittman, 80, of North Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. He was born March 21, 1924, in Chicago. A resident for 45 years, he was a retired pawn shop owner-operator, a World War II and Korean War Army Air Corps aand Air Force veteran, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; four sons, Donald Bittman of Nevada, Tom Bittman of Mesa, Ariz., Kenneth Bittman of Las Vegas and David Allen Bittman of Loves Park, Ill.; two daughters, Susan Rene Kelley of San Antonio and Michele Ellen Magno of Vancouver, Wash.; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m.-10 a.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Graveside services will be 10:40 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Gerald A. Brown

Gerald A. Brown, 64, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Temple Bar, Ariz. He was born Sept. 14, 1940, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for eight years, he was a retired certified public accountant in the hotel industry, a member of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce and Friends of Redrock.

He is survived by his wife, Eileen; one son, Garrick Brown, and one daughter, Debbie Settle, both of Dallas; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

The family suggests donations to the National Park Service, 151 Lakeshore Road, Las Vegas, NV 89015.

Rena Marie Burns

Rena Marie Burns, 81, of Las Vegas died Dec. 18 in a local hospice. She was born Feb. 14, 1923, in Alton, Iowa. A resident for 27 years, she was a retired hairdresser and a World War II Navy veteran.

She is survived by one sister, Florentine Pickett of New Liberty, Iowa.

Visitation is scheduled 4 p.m.-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road. Graveside services will follow at noon Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Tony Alfred Chavez

Tony Alfred Chavez, 71, of Las Vegas died Dec. 28 in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 21, 1933, in New Mexico. A resident for 50 years, he was a food handler.

He is survived by one brother, Marion P. Chavez of Crowley, Texas; and one sister, Stella M. Martinez of Denver.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Vivian M. Dingeldein

Vivian M. Dingeldein, 87, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 16, 1917, in Milan, Mich. A resident for 14 years, she was a retired union dispatcher and past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star 108 in Pasadena, Calif.

She is survived by her husband, John; one daughter, Karen Fraiser of Boron, Calif.; one brother, David Hazlett of Lake Wales, Fla.; and one sister, Ruth Morroni of Northville, Mich.

Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Samuel Dombcik

Samuel Dombcik, 99, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born June 18, 1905, in Poland. A resident for 41 years, he was a retired commercial artist.

He is survived by one daughter, Elaine Shendal of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at noon today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., followed by burial in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane, is handling arrangements.

William Walford Engelhardt

William Walford Engelhardt, 79, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 15, 1925, in Anaheim, Calif. A resident for 33 years, he was a bike repairman and salesman and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Adrienne; and one son, Alfred Rudy.

Deloris J. Farmer

Deloris J. Farmer, 66, of Las Vegas died Dec. 28 in Las Vegas. She was born April 29, 1937, in Indiana. A resident for 25 years, she was a casino cage person.

She is survived by one son, Tony; one brother; three sisters; and seven grandchildren.

A memorial service was scheduled at 3 p.m. today in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Tenny Tavete Fau

Tenny Tavete Fau, 55, of Las Vegas died Saturday. He was born June 17, 1949, in Western Samoa. A resident for 29 years who became a United States citizen, he was a Pepsi-Cola truck driver for 24 years, a member of Teamsters Local 14 and a Matai chief.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa; three daughters, Telesia Fau and LaAna Littlefield, both of Henderson and Aniva Fau of Las Vegas; one son, Tenny Fau of Las Vegas; 11 siblings, Anaiovise Leaupepe, Tufa Fau, Tufa J. Fau and Faafiti Fau, all of New Zealand, Laosamoa Littleton and Lolita Carter, both of California, and Sale Fau, Samaile Fau, Daisy Tanuvasa, Cheryl Loibl and Tavete Fau, all of Western Samoa; and two grandsons.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 10 a.m. service Saturday in the Temple View LDS chapel. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Willard R. Jones

Willard R. Jones, 94, of Las Vegas died Dec. 21 in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 1, 1910, in Banks, Ark. A resident for 36 years, he was a retired automotive salesman.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia; four daughters, Mary Ann Peeler of Seattle, Judy Smith of Trout Lake, Wash., Carol Ann Murphy of Las Vegas and Jana Kelly of Kansas City, Kan.; three sons, Mark Jones and David Fields, both of Las Vegas, and David Jones of Des Plaines, Ill.; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday in First Christian Church, 101 S. Rancho Drive. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Aileen L. Kallay

Aileen L. Kallay, 96, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local care center. She was born April 27, 1908, in Canton, Pa. A resident for 66 years, she was retired.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia A. Rowan.

She is survived by one grandson, Doug Rowan of Las Vegas; one granddaughter, Dawn Bernardo of Canada; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon until a 2 p.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Louis Francis Molnar

Louis Francis Molnar, 73, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 13, 1931, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 3 1/2 years, he was a postal worker, an Army veteran, a member of the Elks and treasurer of the National Association of Letter Carriers.

He is survived by his wife, Marge; three sons, David, Robin and Carl; five daughters, Karen, Sharon, Cindy, Debbie and Chris; and 13 grandchildren.

Neptune Society of Las Vegas, 8570 Del Webb Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Lucille Cooper Moroschak

Lucille Cooper Moroschak of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born in Memphis, Tenn. A resident for 17 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Joe; two sons, Jerry Cooper of Sparks and Richard Cooper of Omaha, Neb.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Lolita Lynn O'Connell

Lolita Lynn O'Connell, 42, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 21, 1962, in Jefferson, Texas. A resident for 40 years, she was a community college student.

She is survived by two daughters, Taylor A. O'Connell and Tayanna A. Billante, both of Las Vegas; her father, Lynwood R. Johnson Sr. of Jefferson, Texas; one sister, Nona M. Johnson of Las Vegas; and three brothers, Lynwood R. Johnson II of Las Vegas and Leonard D. Johnson and Laurence D. Johnson, both of Jefferson.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Isabelino Prieto

Isabelino Prieto, 88, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 26, 1916, in Spain. A resident for 32 years, he was a retired hotel porter.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Darvin D. Schlepitz

Darvin D. Schlepitz, 63, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born April 9, 1941, in Los Angeles. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired director with the U.S. Postal Service and an Army veteran.

He is survived by one daughter, D'Vonna Varner of Las Vegas; one son, Darvin Schlepitz Jr. of Los Angeles; and one grandchild.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Fredrick Robert Turkington

Fredrick Robert Turkington, 12, of Las Vegas died Thursday. He was born Aug. 19, 1992, in Lindsay, Calif. A resident for six months, he was a middle school student.

He is survived by his mother, Joyce G. Turkington of Las Vegas; two sisters, Cassilea Yiamkis and Roxanne Turkington, both of Porterville, Calif.; and his grandmother, Jeannette Gutierrez of Lindsay.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Monday and noon until a 1 p.m. service Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Larry D. Walker Sr.

Larry D. Walker Sr., 50, of Las Vegas died Dec. 29 in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 30, 1954, in Tallulah, La. A resident for 43 years, he was a hotel cook and a member of the American Bowling Congress.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; five sons, Larry Walker Jr., DeAndre Walker, Kevin Walker, Quincy Walker and Shamar Saunders, and five daughters, DeShauna Walker, Juanita Walker, Janice Walker, Jamie Lee Walker and Kiyami D. Walker, all of Las Vegas; his mother, Juanita Pearson of Pahrump; one brother, Jimmy Pearson, and one sister, Carolyn Williams, both of Las Vegas; and 13 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be noon Friday in Second Baptist Church, 500 W. Madison Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Suzanne White

Suzanne White, 46, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born July 25, 1958, in Van Nuys, Calif. A resident for 13 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Mike Hatzi, and one daughter, Angela Hatzi, both of Las Vegas; her mother, Annabelle Smith of Goshen, Calif.; one sister, Cindy Hill; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Jan. 15 in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.
